The philosophy of Executive Director, Karen Newcomb, is to create a yearly destination conference where writers can obtain the necessary information to sell what they write.

Our mission is to bring to this conference the best of the best in writing instructors, authors and others in the business of writing.

Karen Newcomb: President and Executive Director

  • Executive Director of Sierra Writing Camp from 1984 to 1990
  • Literary agent 1990 to present, but no longer is active in this endeavor
  • Fiction Consultant for Newcomb Editorial Services
  • Past president of two writers clubs, including California Writers Club, Sacramento Chapter
  • Fiction writing instructor
  • Heads a bi-monthly critique group at Barnes & Noble Bookstore, Roseville
  • Co-author on several non-fiction books with major publishers
  • Managing Editor and columnist, The Professional Authors Newsletter
  • Believes in giving back to the writing community with what she has learned over the years

Christina Richter:  Vice President and Marketing Specialist

  • Author of 36 non-fiction books with major publishers
  • Author of over 10,000 articles
  • 40 years as writing teacher, How to Write And Sell The Non-fiction Book and How to Write and Sell Articles
  • Instructor and lecturer at many major conferences around the country
  • Co-founder of Sierra Writing Camp, 1975
  • After creating Newcomb Editorial Service he helped to place well over 200 books with major publishers
  • Publisher of The Professional Authors Newsletter
  • Although no longer working as a consultant, Duane believes in giving back to the writing community
